Workplace health support for employers
Use HEALTH ABILITY's allied health services to understand role demands, reduce physical risks and support employees recovering at work across Sydney and surrounding regions.
Where to start
Hiring: Match a candidate's function to clearly defined work demands through pre-employment functional assessment and job demand analysis.
Prevention: Review workstations and manual tasks through ergonomics, hazardous manual-task support and suitable team programs.
Recovery: Clarify capacity and work options through functional capacity assessment, suitable duties and workplace rehabilitation.
When an employee is recovering from an injury
- Share the work context. Describe the role, site, usual tasks and possible adjusted duties.
- Discuss capacity and suitable work. Use the treating practitioner's advice and involve the worker in practical planning.
- Raise specialist support early. If progress stalls, duties are unclear or coordination is difficult, discuss a workplace rehabilitation referral with the insurer.
- Review and adjust. Keep duties, capacity and the recovery plan under review as circumstances change.
For a NSW workers compensation claim, the insurer engages and pays for approved workplace rehabilitation services; the worker must be consulted on provider choice. Read SIRA's guidance.
What helps us scope a request
Tell us your work location, the role or task, the decision you need to make and any relevant time constraints. For a claim-related referral, confirm the insurer and agreed scope before sharing health or claim documents. Use the appropriate referral channel for sensitive information.
